Proprietor, Kothari Properties

I learnt this business at a developer’s desk. Now I use what I learnt there for the people on the other side of it: buyers, housing societies and landowners.

01

Where it began

I grew up in South Mumbai and studied at Greenlawns, then at Indus International in Bangalore, before a postgraduate degree at Regent’s College, London. London was brilliant, the kind of city that makes you feel you could become anyone. But Mumbai called me back. It always does.

02

The developer’s side

Real estate has been my work for 16 years, most of them on the development side. There I learnt to read a project the way a developer does: the approvals, the drawings, the FSI and the costs.

03

Why I advise

In March 2026 I registered with MahaRERA and opened the practice to buyers, housing societies and landowners. I know how developers think. In your deal I work for you, so nobody signs on trust.

How I work

The usual wayWith me
Pressure to book on the first visitTime to decide, and a straight answer if a deal is wrong for you
A junior takes over after the first meetingOne advisor from the first meeting to the registration, and me accountable for every deal
Whichever project needs selling this monthOnly developers I would buy from myself, and my fee never decides what I recommend
Promises made off a glossy brochureOnly MahaRERA‑registered projects, judged on what is filed
Your number passed down a chain of brokersYour details kept private, with no middlemen

A note from Sunny Kothari

Kothari Properties

Honesty and integrity sit above profit, above convenience, above everything. My goal has never been transactions. It’s relationships, the kind that outlast market cycles and start with someone saying: tell me honestly, should I do this?
